Artist Bio
An Alaskan from birth, Fin Ludwig grew up spending time in cabins around Fairbanks and across the state, forming a foundation for his love of the outdoors. Ludwig is currently studying for his Bachelor of Fine Arts degree at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, with a focus on oil painting and drawing. He works primarily in realism as a way of meditating on the natural beauty of Alaska. Ludwig focuses on themes of faith, practice, and contemplation through sublime landscapes, imbued with colors and emotions from his time spent in these places. Communicating on common grounds of nature, Ludwig invites us to search for meaning from nature's inspiring beauty. His work has been exhibited in shows like The 2024 Alaska Centennial Center for the Arts 64th parallel annual juried show, and received awards such as 2024 Juror’s Choice in the student gallery at the University of Alaska Fairbanks.
